Bienvenue en Belgique

In Belgium, the most common language spoken is French, however Belgium is a multilingual country, and a significant amount of Belgium speaks Dutch, and some parts of the country speak German. If your sticking in the south of Belgium (including Brussels), it would be most beneficial to learn a few French phrases before your trip. If your in the mid-east, German may be most beneficial. Most of the rest of the North of the country speaks Dutch. Belgian locals really appreciate when you greet them in their native language and make an effort to communicate respectfully.
